Battlegroup Zentar is the major Battlegroup of the 5th fleet. A few veterans from the Rebel Alliance are commanding many young officers in the ranks of the New Republic. The battlegroup is consists Mon Calamari Cruisers and other Republican carriers equipped with the newest Alphabeth fighters and bombers of the New Republic. Hundrets of Y-Wings and B-Wings can start topedo runs escorted by A-Wings and X-Wings against any target in hyperspace range.

Battlegroup Hunter basically consists of the group of Remnants and Freelancers that followed Fleet Admiral Worf when he joined the New Republic and those that joined their ranks when he got part of the 5th fleet. Their flagship is the giant Super Stardestroyer the Fleet Admiral brought into the fleet. The members of Battlegroup Hunter don't mix to much with the members of the other battlegroups so it became the most mysterious battlegroup in the fleet.

Battlegroup One is basically the 1st battlegroup of the former 5th Imperial fleet. Still equipped with all kind or Imperial equippment the Battlegroup One became a collection of all kind of Imperial remnants that joined the Republic. The flagship of Battlegroup One as well as the flagship of the 5th fleet is the giant Stardestroyer Prometheus.
